Björn Mårtensson ny ordförande i Edsbyns IF Bandy

Vid gårdagens välbesökta årsmöte antogs valberedningens förslag och Björn Mårtensson valdes till ny ordförande i Edsbyns IF Bandy.

Björn har varit styrelseledamot och vice ordförande sedan årsmötet 2021 och han har dessutom gjort insatser som ordförande i Föreningen Edsbyns Bandyvänner samt ordförande i Edsbyns IF:s Alliansförening och Ungdomsfonden. Vid sidan av bandyn har han en bred och mångårig erfarenhet som företagsmäklare, företagare, styrelselordförande och styrelseledamot i bolag och organisationer. 

– Det är med ödmjukhet och engagemang som jag tar mig an det här uppdraget, säger Björn.

Ribban ligger högt för föreningen.

– Vi ska ha fortsatt höga sportsliga ambitioner, vi är idag regerande svenska mästare på herrsidan och har ett damlag som gjorde en fantastisk debutsäsong i Allsvenskan Norra. Och vi ska vara hela Edsbyns och bygdens angelägenhet. En stark barn- och ungdomsverksamhet är grunden för en långsiktigt stark seniorverksamhet för damer och herrar och är också en huvudanledning till att föreningen är viktig för så många. Människor växer upp i Edsbyns IF Bandy.

Björn ser en huvudutmaning under de kommande åren.

– Vi måste få tillbaka publiken igen, efter Corona. Det är en utmaning för oss liksom för alla andra föreningar. Den bästa upplevelsen är att se bandy på plats och jag hoppas att vi ses på bandy i vinter! Alla rödblå får gärna höra gärna av sig till mig med idéer eller synpunkter kring hur vi utvecklar matchupplevelsen ytterligare. Eller hur vi utvecklar föreningen på andra sätt, för den delen!

Nya i styrelsen är Claes Mittjas, Marie Fagerhov, Per Wikblad och Ulf Bäckström.

Vid årsmötet tilldelades också Stefan Karlsson en nyinrättad utmärkelse, för 28 unikt framgångsrika år som sportchef: “Hedersmedlem”, med ett livslångt säsongskort till Edsbyn Arena.
